back after forced brake
May. 30th, 2020 10:42 am So, the cyclone Amphan hit ten days ago. honestly it was a nightmare. the prelude i.e. torrential rain started midmorning, then about 2 pm the wind started to pick up. around 5pm the electricity went out. then the storm hit. we live in a apartment complex, and there was moment when the whole complex was shaking as if its going to collapse.it went on the whole evening and early night. went to bed chanting the names of every deity I could remember.
when I woke up next morning, the first feeling was of relief, our building was still intact without any major damage, some window panes are only casualty. however the relief was momentary as the electricity was yet to return. fortunately for us, it was restored soon. there are several locality in the city which has to go without for days. although the basic facility was back, the same could not be said about mobile connection and internet. had to wait for over a week to these services to be restored, the operator and company's excuse was that -firstly they were short-staffed due to lockdown and secondly they didn't expected the storm to be so severe, although why I have no idea as the weather exparts warned about this way beforehand.
my nerves are truely grated by this experience and not having any connection to outer world made thing worse. there was another small storm day before yesterday that almost sent me to panic mode.
I hope everyone is well.
